    And did you hear that Sherlock himself, Benedict Cumberbatch, will be providing the voice of the Necromancer AND portraying Smaug via motion capture? I can see him interacting with Martin Freeman now: “Watson–they’re after my hoard!”

      Hey, I forgot about that! I’d heard, and thought Cumberbatch would be great as Smaug, but I forgot entirely about the connection between the two.

      In other LOTR-related news, I noticed that Andy Sirkus is Cesar in the new Planet of the Apes film. Which I would not normally have gone to see, but with him, and with WETA doing the effects, and me such a fan of CGI, now I just have to.
