Sing ye choirs of angels….

Rosemary

So, remember how for the past 6 months, the DayJob dumped tons of overtime on me, and then put some extra overtime on top that, and then for good measure, topped the whole thing off with even more overtime?

Last Friday, they told me, “Hey, guess what? You don’t have to do that any more.”

Cue stunned silence, followed by choirs of angels.

It apparently finally became clear to the Powers That Be that it simply isn’t possible to put 20 hours of new tasks on top of 40 hours of regular tasks — not without me falling more and more behind.

So, they gave all that work back to the person they took it from originally. Hooray!

I’ll still need some overtime to catch up on the portion of my regular work that fell behind due to the new work… but after that, I plan to actually have a life again. And write. And communicate with friends. And write. You get the picture.

Of course, the very day I was told this, some viral or bacterial thing hit me with a sledgehammer, and I spent the next 3 days dosed out on Nyquil, then Dayquil, the finally actual prescription meds. Feeling much improved, thank you, though still a bit wembly.

In other news: My Con or Bust entry gained $125 for the fund, and I just sent the journal and book winging its way to the winning bidder.

Bye-bye little book.
