Stealth sale.
For secret marketing reasons, I needed to find out how quickly Amazon’s Kindle store and the other ebook outlets respond when a book’s price is changed.
So, I did a test, and changed the price on The Lost Steersman and The Language of Power.
Answer: Amazon posted the new price immediately, as did Smashword’s own site. The iBooks store and Kobo both had the change within 14 hours later. Barnes and Noble took about 48 hours.
Good to know.
But hey, happy side effect:Â those two books now cost a dollar less than they did before!
So, for anyone who was on the fence about buying the third and fourth books in the series —
Well. Just thought I’d mention it…

Well now, see, I already have paper and eBook versions of both of those, but if you put #5 on sale, I’ll snap it up in a NY Second. At whatever price it is. 🙂

Just bought the ebook version this morning when I saw they had gone on sale. Already own the paper books and had put the ebooks on my wish list as I’m converting my physical books all to digital, in preparation for a move to downsize space.

I’ve found that ebooks really help with small-space living… but I do miss all the physical books I had to get rid of when I left Boston! At least they got a good home at my then-local little neighborhood library branch.
